Obligation |
| As oldest Weissbierbrauerei of Bavaria, it is our honor and obligation to cultivate the heritage of Georg Schneider I in the future responsibly. It is therefore our topmost calling to preserve the characteristic taste, the excellent handcrafted quality, and the natural purity of Schneider Weisse.

Octoberfest |
| Until the destruction of our brewery in Munich we were represented at the Octoberfest with our own wheatbeer tent. As only breweries situated and brewing in Munich are entitled to pour at the Octoberfest , our own Octoberfest tent is a thing of the past [unfortunately].

Oha! |
| Expression of surprise in "Bavarian tongue" . Example: If a wasp settles into an open beer mug the Bavarian beer drinker claims it with an astonished Oha! . Same expression finds its application when a Bavarian trips a Preiß'n [a native German from the North] in the metro and looks keenly at him/her with a stretched Oha!.

Open fermentation |
| is the most important asset for the taste of our wheatbeer. The open fermenters guarantee that the top-fermenting yeast receives plenty of oxygen for its activities. Today in most breweries , though, fermentation in closed vessels has become the norm. - Kräusen

Original |
| The Schneider Weisse Original with its true bottle fermentation and its tan color has been brewed unaltered since 1872 according to the original recipe of Georg Schneider I . Until today it has remained our most popular style of wheatbeer. With its pure, multistrain, top-fermenting yeast, the Schneider Weisse Original comes unfiltered and unpasteurized. Its original values: 12,8% original gravity and 5,4% alc./vol.
|
|
Original Gravity |
| Tells the malt extract of the wort prior to fermentation (in%). Given the original gravity you can calculate the approximate alcoholic strenght of the beer. A normal full calorie beer has an original gravity between 11% and 14% , our classic Schneider Weisse has got about 12.8%, which translates into 5.4% alc/vol. Original gravity can also be expressed in terms of PLATO.
