Sweet Mustard |
| "Senff zertheylet the grobenn Speiß in the Magenn " (from a medical lexicon of 1523) is inextricably linked to white sausages. Mustard are flowers [oil flowers, seasoning flowers, feed flowers] that belong to the category "Kreuzblütlern". The ancient Germans learned the making of the mustard from the Romans. They also adopted the name. Especially characteristic ingredients of sweet mustard are: Caramel-sugar-syrup, mustard flour, spirits based vinegar and a particular secret blend of seasonings.
